Meet the Team

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.

Julie

Office Manager / CDA

Seeing to it that we’re organized, on time, and everything runs smoothly so the team members can focus on delivering exceptional care to our patients, Julie keeps us in line. She’s been working in the dental field since 1978 and is great about explaining treatments and treatment options in terms that patients can understand. She encourages questions and urges patients to become an informed advocate for their own oral health. As our office manager, Julie coordinates scheduling, handles all bookkeeping tasks and accounts receivable, and the insurance billing, too. When needed, she fills in as a chairside assistant, as well. Julie’s friendly and approachable, quick to smile, and she loves getting to know our patients.

A newlywed as of October 2013, Julie and her husband enjoy outdoor sports, movies, and road trips. Her hobbies include gardening and interior decorating. Sharing her life with a cat named Rusty, Julie says the feline keeps her and her husband laughing and happy. Her current plan: to learn how to stand-up paddle board!

Ana

Dental Assistant / RDA

With a warm smile and reassuring presence, Ana excels at developing a rapport with our patients, from the youngest to the oldest. She’s dedicated to ensuring that everyone who comes here has a good experience while in our care, and is always available to answer your questions, help make you more comfortable, or just chat for a bit. She sits chairside, and provides assistance to Dr. Robertson during procedures, to make sure that everything he needs is at hand. But she’s also there for the person being cared for, keeping the patient updated on what the doctor is doing and how much progress is being made, and checking to make sure that he or she is comfortable and relaxed. Ana says that when a patient is smiling at the end of the visit, and thanks her for making things easy, she knows she’s done a great job.

Shannon

Dental Hygienist

Passionate about helping her patients develop and maintain excellent oral health, Shannon spends a lot of her day working one-on-one with patients, and learning about their lives and interests. She knows that the better understanding she has of a person’s lifestyle, the better she is able to help them understand the important connection between oral health and overall wellness, and to find solutions to their unique challenges. In addition to cleaning teeth, Shannon also applies and places various dental compounds to promote dental health, and performs gross scaling. While she’s caring for a patient, she talks with them about strategies for the best home hygiene practices, making good dietary choices, and creating healthy habits. Shannon says that seeing a patient’s dental health improve is what makes her job a joy.

A Santa Barbara native, Shannon is the proud mother of two young children, Carson and Madison. When she’s not working, or being Mom, she’s likely to be found surfing or stand-up paddle boarding, golfing, playing soccer, or training for a triathlon.

Mary

Dental Hygienist

Mary loves making sure that every person we care for has a positive experience during their visit. This is especially true of our younger patients: Mary sees to it that they have a full tour of our office, learn about the equipment we use, and start to feel enthusiastic about their dental care. She knows that by instilling children with an interest in their oral health, and teaching them that a visit to the dentist isn’t something to worry about, they’ll have a healthier life and fewer dental issues in the future. As a hygienist, Mary performs general tooth cleaning, planing and scaling, and fluoride applications. She also spends a lot of time providing patient education, which helps people learn the best ways to keep their mouth healthy and clean between visits.

Mary is married and has two sons, who are both recent college graduates. She and her family lived in London for seven years and she loves to travel. In fact, each year she goes on a trip with friends to cities and countries where they’ve not been before. They’ve been going strong for 15 years! Since her husband and sons are all sports fanatics, Mary’s come to enjoy watching baseball, football, and soccer. She also loves to read, play tennis, hike, and to play bridge, too.
